How much would it mean to you to be less moody, to have less outbursts and anxiety? What about less stress and a greater experience of relaxation and wellbeing instead? Would it mean a lot to you if you could handle your problems better and your relationships with your co-workers were easier? How much is it worth to be able to adapt to change easily? What about to be in less pain and to have more positive feelings about yourself? It is hard to even begin to put a value on these things. It’s safe to say there are a lot of people, including you, that would view these things as being priceless.
We have realised that it is so hard to put a measure on good health; it is invaluable.
The study we have chosen to show you demonstrates the positivity and effectiveness of Chiropracty and will open your eyes to the huge spectrum of improvements reported by people under Chiropractic care.
The study is of 2800 patients’ self-reported outcomes using self-related health, wellness and quality of life categories. ‘This survey bridges the Biomedical and Wellness assessments. It represents the largest study to date assessing such a wide range of patient reported health and wellness benefits of any population.’ The patients were asked to report if they had received a benefit in any of the following categories:
Less stress relative to:
An increasing percentage of patients reported progressively greater improvements in the areas assessed as a function of duration of care; that is, in the population studied, there was no ‘ceiling’ to the results over time for the health and wellness categories investigated. The benefits reported among patient respondents were evident from those as recent as 1 to 3 months under care to those under care for 3 + years.
There is a notion in the general public that Chiropractic is unsafe and we have heard people say to us that they are skeptical about Chiropractic and that their GP told them it was dangerous. Over time there has been media coverage regarding the risks of Chiropractic and if it is in fact safe. We are able to present to you scientific evidence validating the safety of Chiropractic adjustments and also to compare the relative risks against everyday life experiences. It is our hope that you will be open to hearing the facts and so gain a better perspective regarding Chiropractic.
As with any form of health care there are some risks. Some people may feel slightly sore following their first adjustments, as the body begins to realign. This is usually very mild and lasts only a short time.
There is a very rare risk of infrequent strain/injury to a ligament or disk in the neck, being less that 1 in 139 000, or in the low back being 1 in 62 000. *
There is also an extremely low risk of stroke associated with neck adjustments. The most recently published research published in 2001 puts such as event as one in 5.85 million adjustments. *
To put things into perspective, if you are driving in your car to see your Chiropractor, you have a greater chance of being injured in a car accident than from your Chiropractor. *
